Changes SIDN
16-03-2010

Upcomming and important changes are ahead when it comes to .nl registration.
There are 2 major changes:

1: Conditions regarding a .nl transfer.
2: Delay in registration on Wednesday (2010/03/17).

1:
The SIDN (Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland) is preparing the
release of a new registrationsystem. The release will rolled out and put live on
Monday 2010/03/15. With this release the folling important changes regarding a
transfer have been made live;

Any .nl domain transfer needs a TOKEN which is an autorization code. The token
is an unique string which is being linked to your domain. You can request this
string at your current hostingprovider which has the duty to hand it out without
a hassle. Once you made your new hostingprovider aware of this token, it's
possible to start a transfer request.

We want to emphasize that without this TOKEN it's no longer possible to transfer
a .nl domain.

2:
This Wednesday (2010/03/17) the SIDN is going to upgrade the registrationsystem.
On this day the SIDN will not process any kind of request / mutation. That means
that there will also be a short delay in our services regarding the .nl domains.
We will queue all request and process as soon as possible.

The outage affects the following requests:

1: new registrations
2: transfers
3: change of owner
4: nameserver changes
5: all other mutations

We hope that we can process all request at normal speed again at Thursday
2010/03/18. We have confidence that the SIDN will finish their work within their
schedule.
